One more ship Hijacked.

Pirates from Somalia hijacked one more cargo ship today with Ukrainian crew. The English ship M/V Ariana owned by Seven Seas Maritime Ltd was a large bulk carrier and was carrying soya bean cargo and was heading to Middle east when it was hijacked at northwest of the Seychelles islands. It was not officially announced that how many seaman were on board at the time of the hijack, but sources said there were nearly 23 Ukrainian crew members were onboard.


Mean while last week M/T Stoltstrength a Philippine chemical tanker was released from the Somali hijackers after paying the $2.5 million ransom money. The crew members reached safely their home. The tanker was attacked and hijacked by the Somali pirates on Nov.10 while it was on its way to India with a cargo of phosphoric acid.

Currently Somali pirates are holding 17 ships and around 300 numbers of crew members and are waiting for the ransom money to release the ships and the crew members.
