Italian ship was attacked twice.

An Italian ship named M/V Jolly Smeraldo was attacked twice by Somali pirates wednesday. First time it was attacked by around 06.00 and later around 08.00. The ship crew did a fine job and survived the gunshots and attempted hijack of the Italian cargo vessel. The pirates attacked the ship nearly 270 Nautical miles off the cost of Somalia.


Currently nearly 20 International warships are patrolling the pirates filled areas.

According to IMO there are nearly 16 ships are held by Somali bandits for ransom along with 250 innocent seaman as captives.

here by all the seaman and ships are warned that the wether in the area is becoming sommoth and the seas are calm. This will give the pirates good chances to attack vessels. Be vigilant while on watch keeping.
