    General Cargo Ships.

    General Cargo Ships are used to transport many kind of cargos all over the world from port to port. They vary in size and type too. They are built with special cargo holds to carry different type of cargos. Some have cargo handling cranes, Some don't have. Some have packing machines and operate like a factory in ports.
    These ships are under the command of a captian (Master) and the ship manning is diveded in to three sections as Deck, Engine and Galley department.

    Those who want to work on this vessels must have the following things as per the IMO.
    01. A valid travel document
    02. Seamn Registration from their country of origin
    03. English knowledge to communicate with others.
    04. Necessary valid licences to carry thier duties.(Officers)

    Certificates for the following short courses.
    01. First Aid At Sea.
    02. Fire Fighting.
    03. Advanced Fire Fighting.
    04. Personal Safety and Social Responsibility. (PSSR) with Survival Techniques.
    05. Crowd Management

    Officers must posses advanced course certificates for the above.

    The Officers and crew must be engage in a six month period contact with the shipping company or it's agents, and it can be extended.
    Travelling to and from the vessel will be freely assisted by the shipping company for the officers and crew.
